It is of the carbon fibre composite floor (Ralt drawing number P4-BO-0704/05-01), designed by Ian Bailey for the Ralt RT40 Formula Atlantic car. Ralt RT40 and RT41 cars won every American Formula Atlantic championship between 1994 and 2003. Many Indy Car drivers honed their skills in these cars, including Jacques Villeneuve.

Ian Bailey helped to design many Ralt racing cars, he also worked as a design engineer on the Allard J2X Group C sports racing car (1992 – 1993).
