It is of fabricated and machined steel rear suspension lower wishbone (Ralt drawing number K5-RS-0605/06), designed by Ian Bailey, for the rear suspension of the Ralt RT5 Formula Super Vee car. The RT5 dominated the Formula Super Vee championship in America, in the 1980s. These drivers won this championship with an RT5, Peter Kuhn (1980), Al Unser Jr (1981), Michael Andretti (1982), Arie Luyendyk (1984), Ken Johnson (1985), Scott Atchison (1987), Ken Murillo (1988), Mark Smith (1989) and Stuart Crow (1990).
Ian Bailey helped to design many Ralt racing cars, he also worked as a design engineer on the Allard J2X Group C sports racing car (1992 – 1993).
